WORK

Cousins

For our second session, it wasn’t just Lauren, but also her cousins, Kaitlyn and Madeline.  Together the girls are a riot – laughing, hugging, running back and forth, and chasing bubbles.  Madeline would follow behind, which was absolutely adorable, especially since she was in her tutu!  There is so much love within the cousins and even when they would “fight,” they would make up quickly, hug, and continue on with their play.  I love how much fun the girls have with each other even though they live miles – on different coasts! – away.  When they see each other, it is as if time has not passed and they live within inches apart instead.

I look forward to seeing the girls all together again in the summer.  Hopefully one day Emi and Madeline can have the relationship Lauren and Kaitlyn have as BFFs!

A year literally went by at a blink of an eye.  Just last September, Amy and I were welcoming two precious little girls into our families and now, a year later, her daughter is one.  Throughout this past year, I watched Madeline grow, often side by side with Emi.  It was definitely neat to hear about and see Madeline hit different milestones.  She definitely picked up on things fast – climbing up and down the couch, crawling up the stairs, and using her walker to eventually walk just short of her birthday.  She is a special little girl…and also Emi’s BFF.  I am so glad that we get to hang out almost every month because our girls are going to be friends growing up and it has definitely been a chance for our families to bond and strengthen our friendship.

Madeline, you are not only special to your mommy, daddy, and big sister Kaitlyn, but also to me, Uncle Taro, and Emi!  We love seeing you and cannot wait until you and Emi start having real conversations, holding hands and skipping along to the park, and becoming true BFFs!

Sisterly love.  They were sharing Cheerios and I like how Kaitlyn is saying “Cheese!” with a Cheerio!

I truly enjoy capturing the beauty and strength of pole dancing so I was quite ecstatic when the ladies of The Doll House Pole Fitness asked me to come in and shoot some photos of them. Not only was it about showing how tough a workout pole dancing is, but it was about capturing the fluidity of movement and dance.  I love capturing spins and seeing a smile whiz by.  It is just sheer enjoyment on the face, showing that working out can include some fun and a sense of freedom…and some laughter and hair flying by!

The Doll House Pole Fitness is located in Corona and offers not only pole dancing, but a variety of classes.  It is a growing studio and I wish the ladies of The Doll House the best as they continue to grow and expand not only with their business, but with their skills and love for pole!
