I met Maile Morales at Adriana and Jeff’s wedding.  She set up this incredible dessert bar filled with milk and cookies, raspberry jam bars, and pies.  It was a dessert heaven and all the guests at the wedding treated themselves to slivers of pie and happily devoured the goodies.  I actually was able to try a raspberry jam bar and a small slice of lemon meringue pie and it was absolutely fantastic!  Not only were the treats tasty, but lovely to photograph with all the vintage-themed elements that Adriana and Jeff put together.

After setting up everything, Maile and I were able to chat and we discussed getting together for a morning where I could come into her bakery and take some photos of more goodies, but also the works of a pastry chef.  As a Cordon Bleu pastry chef, you can see the love and attention to detail that Maile puts into her creations.  It was a day filled with cake pops, macarons, cookies, and cakes!  Not only was I able to capture Maile in her element, but also the final products and smell the wonderful scents coming out of the kitchen.

Maile caters for all events – big or small – and loves putting together colorful spreads of pastry delights.  It was so much fun photographing an element of food – I love food! – and I cannot wait to stop by again to photograph more delectable pastries!

Dessert Table Photos from Adriana + Jeff’s Wedding:

I met Adriana and Jeff last year for their engagement session and even now, I remember how creative and fun their photos were.  With their wedding, though, they took it up at least ten notches!  There was inspiration and careful detail everywhere, although the two made it look completely effortless!  It was a photographer’s dream – from their centerpieces with birdcages, incorporation of music in their favors, specially crafted bouquets made from corn husks, to the hand-drawn design on the umbrella and wedding tree.  The vintage inspired elements to their wedding suited Adriana and Jeff well and the day was about capturing their artistry and creativity, but also their love for each other.

From the moment we started, it was definitely a celebration of their love.  Adriana and Jeff had such a sweet first look – smiles and an intimate hug – and the day progressed with capturing just the two of them.  There were plenty of laughs as we started off at Exposition Park and roamed the Natural History Museum at some of their favorite exhibits before having their family and friends witness the blessing of the rings and insertion of cards/letters into a wine box that Adriana and Jeff will read each year during their anniversary.  These additions to their wedding truly made it one of a kind.

From start to finish, Adriana and Jeff had an amazing wedding.  And you could not end the night on a better note than with a dessert bar – yummy pastries, pies, and cookies and milk on display! – and dancing.  Congratulations, Adriana and Jeff; it was a lovely wedding and a joy to be a part of it!

Love, love, love all the details at Adriana and Jeff’s wedding!

The finished wedding tree guest book.  Can you believe Jeff made this himself?  Amazing!
