My goal is to take a photo a day, whether it is with my camera or my iphone. Either way, I want to capture as many moments as possible and to cherish and remember absolutely everything about my baby girl. She already has “changed” since Day 1. Eyelashes are starting to emerge, her cheeks are getting fuller, eye contact is developing…she even grew half an inch! Everyone that I know who has children say they grow up so fast. That is absolutely true. It is hard to imagine saying in the future, “Remember when Emi….”
For now, though, a photo a day so when that time comes, I can look back and remember that very day my life changed. (Mommy hormones are causing me to tear up right now as I write this because that is how special Emi is to me!)
By the way, she sleeps like her daddy. I love it.

When Melissa asked me to take family portraits for Christmas, I was more than happy to, especially since the Kan family is such an integral part of our lives. We witnessed their marriage – I felt honored that Melissa asked me to see her in her wedding dress before she decided on it -, the purchase of their house, and the birth of their beautiful daughter. Taro has known Jason since forever (literally) and once shared an apartment with Melissa. So to partake in their very first holiday photo…I was excited. Every time I see Isabella, she is bubbly and always has a smile on her face. Her new thing – which is quite adorable – is to point so it was funny when she would do that while I snapped away. It added character, especially when she would laugh or try to crawl away.
It was a fun, late afternoon with the Kan family. Jason and Melissa, you two are really a great couple and I love Isabella. Taro and I are so happy for the two of you and love that we are her uncle and aunt!

A funny, candid shot of Jason playing with Isabella. I love how he is blowing into her cheek and she is playfully pushing him away.

Jason and Melissa stopped by our house to trick-or-treat with their daughter, Isabella, since our street is super busy with kids (although this year they started much later than last year). She is still relatively young, but this was her first Halloween and first trick-or-treating experience. She might not remember this, but for Jason and Melissa, it is the first of many first time experiences as parents. It was fun to walk to a couple houses with them – the neighbor across the street always decorates and this year it was a giant pumpkin and graveyard with the Scream masks. A few houses down, they were playing Halloween music and obviously having a blast. These two settings allowed for some impromptu photographs and I absolutely loved how Isabella was sitting on the grass with leaves surrounding her.
Isn’t she the most adorable Princess Leia? I love this little girl.
