After trying Lazy Ox Canteen with Kris, I really wanted Taro to try the food as well, mostly because he LOVES burgers. It took some time, but we finally went together on July 5th since he had the day off. Luckily for us, the restaurant wasn’t crowded (unlike when I came with Kris for dinner and it was filled to capacity). We were able to get a table right away and we chose the Lazy Ox Burger and the Braised Veal Breast with Potato Salad. Again, I love the mustard seed side that comes with the burger and the fries were perfectly cooked. The veal breast was tender and the warmth of it contrasted with the chill of the potato salad. Both dishes were delightful and it was nice to enjoy lunch with Taro on his day off.

Yesterday afternoon, we did another photo session, but this time at Garfield Park in South Pasadena. It is a cute park located on Mission with gorgeous, large trees and a small rose garden. Luckily my brother and Vivian didn’t mind taking the short journey to the park and fulfilling my requests to try to climb a branch! Vivian had this great yoga/animal-like pose on the tree which I love! On top of that, Brother (as I call him) and Vivian had fun on the swings.

Allen (my brother) and Vivian have been going out since their days at Cal Poly. She initially was “the girl who hung out with the boys” in the garage, looking at what they could fix on the cars. As time passed, she became something more – not just to my brother, but to my family. She was one of my bridesmaids and she is a friend. I couldn’t ask for someone better for my brother. As the years have passed, their relationship has grown – the usual bumps along the way, the support when looking for a job, the adventures and trips, the caring of each other’s dog, and the love and friendship that they have in each other.
I love them both very much and am grateful that they let me practice some shots with them. Thanks for the support and I hope you two have fun celebrating your anniversary!
